Text: Hebrews 13:8

“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever.”

Introduction: Four Great Messages

I. JESUS SAVES

The suffering of Jesus foretold. Isaiah 53:1-12

This passage talks about the suffering of the coming Messiah.

Jesus died on the cross NOT BECAUSE OF HIS SINS, BUT BECAUSE OF OURS.

Jesus suffered the punishment for our sins so that we who are dead may live.

It was not the NAILS that kept Jesus on the Cross. It was LOVE that stuck him there! His Love for YOU and ME! Jesus is AWESOME!

Acts 4:12 – No other name that can save us except the name of Jesus!

Jesus was our Substitute.

II. JESUS HEALS

Isaiah 53:5 By His wounds we are healed.

1 Peter 2:24

Jesus never changes.

Jesus healed the woman with an issue of blood. (Mark 5:25-34)

Jesus raised the dead. (John 11:43-44)

Peter and John healed the lame man at the Beautiful Gate. (Acts 3:3-10)

III. JESUS THE BAPTIZER IN THE HOLY SPIRIT

Matthew 3:11

Acts 1:8

Acts 2:4 On the day of Pentecost a sound from heaven came and filled the house in which they were sitting. The Holy Spirit came and filled all of them, there were 120 of them, and they spoke in different tongues as the Holy Spirit gave them utterance.

IV. JESUS THE SOON COMING KING

In the last days there will be many scoffers saying, “Where is he? Where is his promised coming?” But they do not know that with the Lord one thousand years is like a day. And he is not slow in keeping his promise, but he is waiting that people repent of their sins so that they will be saved.

He will come like a thief in the night. (1 Thessalonians 5:2)

We will be caught up in the clouds. (1 Thessalonians 4:13-18) RAPTURE

It is a mystery. (1 Corinthians 15:50-58) We will all be changed in a moment, in a twinkling of an eye.

Be steadfast, unmoveable. Give yourself fully to the service of God.

John 14:1-6

Summary of Our Faith

4 12 2007

We subscribe to the APOSTLES’ CREED as follows:

WE BELIEVE in Almighty God, Creator of heaven and earth.

WE BELIEVE in Jesus Christ His Only Begotten Son, Who was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, suffered and died under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died and was buried. On the third day He rose back to life and ascended into heaven and sits at the Right Hand of the Father from where He will come again to judge the living and the dead.

WE BELIEVE in the Holy Spirit, the Holy Universal Church, the Fellowship of the Saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body and life everlasting.

AMEN.

Specifically, we believe…

…in the Bible as God’s written Word, the basis of Christian Faith and Conduct.

… in God who revealed Himself to be of three co-equal, co-eternal Persons as Father, Son and Holy Spirit. (Matthew 28:19)

… in Jesus Christ as the only way back to God. (John 3:16, John 14:6; Acts 4:12).  He was crucified in our behalf and shed His blood for the forgiveness of our sins.  Thus, He purchased, once and for all, our eternal salvation.

… in the full deity and full humanity of the Lord Jesus Christ. (John 1:1-3,14)

… in the deity of the Holy Spirit. (Acts 5)

… that Man is a sinner who cannot save himself. (Romans 3:23; 6;23; 3:10,11)

… that Salvation is God’s free gift and can be received only by faith. (Ephesians 2:8,9).

… that the Church exists to glorify God, by bringing people into its membership, nurturing them to maturity, and equipping them for ministry and their mission in the world. (Matthew 28:19,20)

…in a literal, eternal heaven. (John 14:1-6)

…in a literal, eternal hell. (Luke 16:19 &ff.)

…in the spirit world inhabited by both good and evil spirit beings.

…in the Rapture of the Saints of God. (1 Thessalonians 4:13-18)

…in the Second Coming of Jesus Christ. (Matthew 24)

…in the Resurrection of both the Righteous and Unrighteous. (1 Corinthians 15)

…in the Final Judgment. (Revelation 20, 21)

…in the Restoration of all things. (Revelation 21,22)

…in an eternity with God. (Revelation 22)
